Knee Length Jean Skirts
If you are looking to go casual with a touch of femininity you might find comfort and style in jean skirts, or as some of you may know it, a denim skirt. A jean skirt comes in a wealth of styles and lengths to fit almost any occasion. They are tailored for sizes from petite to plus size, from mini to ankle length or anything in between. You will find a jean skirt in the children’s, misses and women’s departments of almost any clothing store.
For today’s youth, no wardrobe is complete without at least one or two mini jean skirts. Young girls wear them in a wide array of colors but always, always in mini length! There are pink denim minis with embroidery, patches or “jewels.” Traditional blue denim can be embellished or plain. If the style isn’t purchased with rips and tears, be prepared to get out your scissors when you get home; current trend is to make new look old. Many of these mini jean skirts have frayed hems and/or seams.
Denim has become much more acceptable in recent years and many offices now allow women to wear knee length jean skirts as long as they are in good repair and in good taste. Abercrombie, American Eagle and Old Navy may carry trendy styles for just this purpose. They would also carry a good selection of blouses and other accessories to complete the outfit. In the autumn they may even offer a selection of matching denim jackets for those cooler days.
Many women prefer to wear long jean skirts. A long jean skirt is not only fashionable but may tend to serve a purpose as well. Often larger women prefer longer skirts because the long lines tend to be slimming. They can disguise or enhance, as the case may be, yet allow for today’s women to be fashionable if she is not exactly runway model size.
So if you want to go casual yet add a touch of femininity, a jean skirt might be just the solution you are looking for. You can find a denim skirt in your size in almost any length. They come embroidered, frayed, bejeweled or plain. You can find them in discount clothing stores as well as in high end designer shops. Dress them up or down as the occasion warrants with a bit of creativity. There is no need to stick with the traditional blue denim either! A wide array of colors is available so use your imagination. To complete the look, add a denim purse and you are on your way. As a matter of fact, I should add a word of caution here. Even though you know that I am a huge fan of denim shirts, jeans, and the rest, I should say that going all denim is not advisable. You always want to differentiate among your outfit, and for that reason, if you want I say that all jean skirts should be accompanied by a colorful top as you see in the image on the right. That rule is especially important when it comes to blue skirts, so keep it in mind!
